Little Tigers

Ages 4 - 6, 40-minute dedicated class

Little Tigers introduces young children to Taekwondo through fun, structured physical activities. Alongside basic Taekwondo skills, the program emphasizes movement development, confidence, and the foundations of learning with others.

Growing Through Movement
Activities with cones, agility ladders, and low hurdles help children practise balance, coordination, and body control. Simple Taekwondo movements and playful challenges encourage them to enjoy being active and trying new things.

Learning with Peers and Older Classmates
Alongside their dedicated class, Little Tigers also train in Children I with slightly older beginners. With guidance from our instructors, they learn by observing others and practise listening, taking turns, and showing respect.

· Before enrolling, every child must attend a free trial class so we can assess their readiness for group learning

Children

Ages 7 - 12, 45-minute classes

Our Children’s program builds strong fundamentals while developing fitness, focus, confidence, and respect. Beginners and experienced students are welcome. Rather than placing all ages and belts in one class, we guide students toward a group suited to their stage of development.

Building Skills Step by Step

Students practise basic stances, blocks, kicks, and poomsae. Activities also build fitness and coordination while encouraging students to listen carefully and put feedback into practice.

Class Placement That Considers Age and Belt

Children I and II are not simply beginner and intermediate classes. We consider younger students’ training experience alongside older students’ understanding and readiness, grouping students who can learn within a similar class structure. Intermediate and advanced students aged 11–12

may join Teens & Adults when ready for that training environment.

· Sparring is optional classes. Students can continue progressing in regular training without participating in sparring or competitions.

Teens & Adults

Ages 13 +, & Int. and Adv. students aged 11-12
45-minute classes

Whether you are new to Taekwondo, returning to training, or looking to develop your skills further, this program offers a welcoming place to work toward your goals. No previous martial arts experience is required.

Developing Skills and Fitness

Classes combine fundamental techniques, kicking drills, poomsae, pad work, and exercises for flexibility and fitness. Individual practice and partner activities help students improve accuracy, body control, and confidence through consistent training.

Challenges That Match Your Readiness

Instruction considers technical ability and readiness as well as age. Intermediate and advanced students aged 11–12 who are ready for more challenging training can participate alongside teens and adults. Students work on tasks suited to their experience and current abilities.

· You can focus on regular training or choose to explore optional sparring and competition as your interests and goals develop.

High Performance

Selected Athletes, 1-2-hour classes

Our High Performance program develops athletes working toward national and international competition in sparring and poomsae. Drawing on his Team Canada coaching experience, Master Jo guides athletes in building strong fundamentals, competition skills, fitness, and readiness.

Preparing for Competition

Sparring training develops timing, distance control, connected attacks and defence, and tactical decisions. Poomsae training emphasizes accuracy, balance, power, and presentation. Technical training and physical conditioning are tailored to the discipline and the athlete’s level.

Developing Athletes Step by Step

Training groups consider technical ability, competition experience, and readiness. Younger athletes strengthen their foundations, while those who are ready take on more demanding training and competition. Consistent effort, applying feedback, and a responsible training attitude are central to the program.

· Master Jo selects athletes from our regular classes based on their skills, commitment to training, and competitive goals.
